I guess if one gives any credence to astrology they would have to say I am a classic Virgo. I often refer to myself as such, simply based on the fact that I am involved in so many different types of the Arts. Of course through my links you can already see many of my hobbies, so I wont reiterate those on this page. Below are some of the other hobbies I enjoy.

Singing & Guitar playing:

   I have been singing for many years now.  I took vocal classes in High School and belonged to both the Choir and the Glee Club.  When I was in the military my music skills came into play also. How?? Well not only did I sing cadence as we marched but also was found leading our squad in songs during our free time as well. Later in life I sang with a Gospel group called the "Dotson Family" in Alabama.  We traveled all over the state singing and were even on T.V. a couple of times.  While singing with the Dotson's I learned to play both the Guitar and the Bass.  I would by no means say I am a great player but I do well enough to ensure you'd know what song it was. Since then I have sung solo's in different churches and yes, even in the karaoke bars. 

Crochet & Cross Stitching:

   I, like many other ladies, was taught to crochet by my grandmother at a fairly early age. My favorite things to crochet would be Barbie clothes and Afghans.  I guess I have completed maybe 10 Afghans, none of which I posses any longer. lol ( time to make a new one ) I love the Granny squared Afghans the best specially the ones that look like flowers.  Cross Stitching is very time consuming but something I have loved doing as well. Over the years I have cross stitched Dolphins, Praying hands, Country Scenes, and much more. My all time favorite though is my Indian Lady. She is a combination of thread, beads and suede.  She took me over 6 months to complete but it was definitely worth it.  She is so big I am unable to scan the entire picture for you to view but I have a good portion of her. I now working on another very large cross stitch of an eagle in flight over the mountains. This one may take even longer than my Indian Lady as I have found that over the years my carpal in my hands is worse. It is hard for me to
hold a needle for long periods of time now without it hurting, but I am determined to finish this one for my hubby. He loves eagles, thus why I chose this one. 

Reading & Writing:

   You can see my enjoyment of writing through my poetry link & my thoughts link. I love to write what I guess you can call analogies. Just phrases or paragraphs about life in general, normally when I do this it will deal with some type of human values and morality. I don't do this as often as I used to anymore, but who knows maybe I will start again.  Of course being interested in writing I am a lover of reading also. My favorite authors would have to be C.W. Lewis, Stephen King and Frank Peretti. Each one of these writers seem to be able to describe things in details that are not over powering but that literally help your mind envision what is taking place.  I am also a Big Kid at heart so you may find me curled up with the latest Harry Potter Book also. - giggle

Nature & Sports: 

   I am like a kid in a candy store when it comes to nature.  I love to spend the day collecting different dried weeds while watching the bunnies, squirrels and other animals. That may sound odd but believe it or not dried weeds can make an awesome arrangement when placed in a weaved basket. Since I am such a nature fan you can find me content to stay all day and night fishing. And yes, I bait my own hook and even clean my own fish. I would say my next favorite sport has to be pool. My Dad taught me to play when I was very small and I have loved the game ever since then. I was even good enough (at one time ) to win the M.V.P. trophy for my counties Ladies Pool League.  Lets just say that since then I have a bit of brushing up to do. - giggle  Matter of fact I love pool so much, you may find me online at pogo.com playing in high stakes pool (Remember that is where I met my Love Andre)

 

I am sure I could ad more to this list but I think over all this sums up the type of things I am most passionate about.  I am a pretty boring person eh??  - giggle
