Poetry is something I have enjoyed writing for many years. I have been known to write a poem by request, or on the spot. However, my favorite time to write is simply whenever the mood strikes me. 

I would by no means call myself a poet, as I have no sense of the various poetry writing techniques other than a few basics like prose and haiku.   My favorite way to write poetry is in what I would call a Parable.  I naturally find that things (or circumstances) can be explained to others in many different ways.  A good example of my meaning would be my poem titled 'Destiny'.  Although it looks to speak of driftwood in reality it is speaking of how a person chooses (or fails to choose - I should say) to live his/her life.
